I didn't own any maxi skirt, and seeing that navy is now in trend I made myself a navy maxi skirt over the weekend. It was very easy to make and it's very suitable in these temperatures that we have here.
Skirt handmade, top, shoes, bag from aunt, necklace from my mom.

I wish I could just whip up a super cute maxi skirt like this!! Did you use a tutorial or just kinda come up with your own pattern?
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley. I didn't use a pattern because you don't need one. I just took a piece of fabric in the lenght I wanted my skirt to be and I kept the width of it (it was 150 cm wide). I then divided the elastic and the fabric in equal parts (mark them with pins: divide the fabric in 2 equal part, then every part in 2 again and so on. do the same with the elastic). Match the pins on the elastic and the fabric. Then I used a wide zig-zag stitch to sew the fabric on while I was pulling the elastic to match the lenght of the fabric. Then a small zig-zag stich on the bottom and that's it :)
DeleteOhhh I hope I was clear enough. I think I'll make a tutorial on this and post it over the weekend :)
I wish I could sew, I would make another 4-5 maxi skirts for myself. They are so comfy and perfect for summer, you look great! Visiting from the I Feel Pretty link up today, hope you have a great day!

Thank you Lindsay. You don't need to have great sewing experience to make a maxi skirt. Just to know how to use your sewing machine. I'm glad you like it and now I will definitely made a tutorial :)
